I don't own any rights for the song. “Gigantic” is a song by Pixies from their 1988 album “Surfer Rosa”. Later in the same year, the song was re-recorded for a single, and this is the version in the video. The main reason for my choice is the bass part. In the album version, Kim just plays eight notes throughout all of the song. In the single version, it’s more diverse: the bassline is stripped to the skeleton in verses; then, in pre-chorus, it grows some meat; and explodes into a full-blown all-eights bass stream for the chorus. Like an avalanche coming down the mountain. This way it’s more fun to play and easier to see how good and catchy the melody is. If you prefer the album version, you tab still use this tab. Just play the chorus from it for all the sections of the album version. According to Kim, the main inspiration for the song was the film “Crimes of the Heart”, in which a white married woman falls in love with a black teenager and the song "Gigantic" is credited to Mrs John Murphy (Kim's pseudonym at the time of “Come On Pilgrim” and “Surfer Rosa”). The song's voyeuristic lyrics mostly revolve around a woman's observation of an attractive black man making love to another woman, culminating in the oddly light-hearted but sexual chorus. Frank later commented on the title of the song and the chorus, saying: "A good chord progression, very Lou Reed influenced. I'd had the word 'gigantic' in my mind just because the chord progression seemed very big to me". Lyrics: And this I know, his teeth as white as snow What a gas it was to see him Walk her every day into a shady place With her lips she said She said Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic A big, big love Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic A big, big love Lovely legs, they're a... What a big black mess, what a hunk of love He'd walk her every day into a shady place He's like the dark, but I'd want him Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball Hey Paul, hey Paul, hey Paul, let's have a ball Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic A big, big love Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic A big, big love Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic A big, big love Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love A big, big love
