The ongoing controversy in Dhenkanal district over Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiary lists has taken a dramatic turn following allegations made by female Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Swarnaprabha Sahu against Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra and his supporters. Swarnaprabha Sahu, the PEO of Kaimati Panchayat, alleged that supporters of Minister Krushna Chandra Patra misbehaved with her in Gahamakhunti village and exerted political pressure to arbitrarily include preferred names in the PMAY beneficiary list. Furthermore, the Sadar PEO and ADEO Association strongly condemned the Minister's public reprimand, transfer threats, and corruption allegations against the BDO and PEO. The association met the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) to demand an impartial inquiry into the incident, following which the ADM assured that the District Collector would be briefed and a thorough probe conducted.
