The composer is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and staff pianist for the theater department since 1995. The name refers to an iconic coffee shop at Waverly and St. Viateur in Montreal's Mile End Neighborhood. The cafe opened in 1970 as "Café Olimpico". A sign over the door originally read "OPEN DAY & NIGHT"; over time the letters fell down or disappeared, leaving the title. This is probably my favorite piece from Carmona yet. Definitely a lot of fun to play. I tried to keep the tempo steady and play as little mistakes as possible. Not feeling at the top of my form recently but hope it's fine. Further pieces by Carmona that I played:    • Damon Carmona: MUPUS (A Ragtime Two-Step)      • Damon Carmona: Rag  "El Sonámbulo"
