Our target was to push all the way from Kalpa to Kaza, but high-altitude rides rarely go according to plan. A nasty tyre puncture right before Reckong Peo forced an emergency replacement, costing hours and completely shifting the route. Instead of pushing in the dark, we detoured to the peaceful waters of Nako Lake and made it to the ancient mud monastery town of Tabo just before sunset.
