Dragon Quest XI: MANGLEGROVE MISSION | EP03 Grinding, Old Friends & Forging Ahead

We’re back in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, picking up right where Episode 02 left off at the Heliodorian Foothills Church after our escape from Heliodor Castle! It has been quite a while since this adventure continued, and there has been a pretty significant upgrade to the setup since the last episode. Episode 02 was recorded back in September 2025 on my Dell G7 gaming laptop at 1080p and medium settings. For Episode 03, we’re moving over to the new gaming desktop and stepping things up to 1440p for a much cleaner, smoother experience. In this episode, we spend some time showing off an early-game grinding spot that can help build up levels and prepare the party for what lies ahead. From there, we reconnect with one of Erik’s old buddies, continue our journey toward the Manglegrove, and start getting deeper into some of Dragon Quest XI’s early-game systems. Once we reach the Manglegrove, we’re introduced to forging, giving us our first real opportunity to start crafting and improving equipment as the adventure begins to open up. This episode ends after learning the forging system and getting settled into the Manglegrove, setting us up perfectly for the next leg of the journey. If you’re following the series from Episode 02, you should notice a pretty big jump in both visual quality and overall gameplay smoothness thanks to the upgraded hardware.
