Papercrafting with rice paper - Is it even possible?

Brands often put their best and most beautiful pattern designs on rice paper, instead of their regular design paper, it seems. Rice papers are usually used to alter hard surfaces, like boxes, furniture and the like. So, can we papercrafters work with rice papers instead?
