Truth Leaves a Trace: Inside the Science of Crime, Evidence & Justices | Avril Eyewu-Edero

What happens when a crime is committed, the stories conflict, and the truth is hidden? The evidence remains. In this episode of PSKorner, Buduka J. Addey sits with forensic investigator and security professional Avril Eyewu-Edero for a fascinating conversation about forensic science, criminal investigations, security, evidence and justice. With more than 14 years of experience across the public and private sectors, Avril has led and supported over 500 investigations involving fraud, homicide, terrorism, corporate breaches, fire incidents and corruption. Her career has also taken her into major forensic identification exercises, corporate investigations, crisis management and the development of forensic capacity in Nigeria. The conversation explores: • What really happens behind a forensic investigation • Why evidence can change the outcome of a case • The intersection between forensics, private security and risk management • Nigeria’s forensic and investigative capability • Evidence preservation and investigative readiness in organisations • SGBV evidence handling and Avril’s work developing an indigenous forensic rape kit • What Nigeria needs to build stronger evidence-driven security and justice systems This is more than a conversation about crime scenes. It is a conversation about the systems required to establish truth—and why security does not end when prevention fails. Truth Leaves a Trace. Welcome to PSKorner.
