In Spanish every noun is either masculine or feminine, and the word for "the" changes with it. El libro. La casa.
No rule covers every word, so the only way is to learn the article WITH the noun — not "casa" but "la casa". Do that from the start and you never have to unlearn it.
The last set is the exceptions worth knowing now: el agua, el problema, el día, la mano.
Every sentence is spoken twice by a native Spanish voice, with the word being taught picked out on screen. After each set there is a recall round: the English appears, you get three seconds to say the Spanish out loud, then the answer.
