The discussion examines key passages from the Torah and the Prophets, including Genesis 2–3, Isaiah 7:14, Hosea 14:2, and Joel 1:8. The debate becomes especially heated when they examine the Hebrew words alma and betulah and argue over the meaning of “virgin” in the Old Testament. In this debate, you'll hear: Does Genesis 3:15 point to the defeat of sin and death through the Messiah? What does the Hebrew Bible say about the serpent in the Garden of Eden? Does repentance require sacrifice according to the Torah? What is the meaning of alma and betulah in Hebrew? Does Isaiah 7:14 support the Christian interpretation of the virgin birth? How should Christians and Jews interpret Old Testament messianic prophecies? This conversation raises important questions about biblical interpretation, Hebrew language, messianic prophecy, and the differences between Jewish and Christian understandings of Scripture. Watch until the end as the debate turns to a challenge over the Hebrew word betulah and its use in Joel 1:8. 💬 What do you think?
