First-Ever Jamaica Rising Day Parade- [COVERAGE TENetworks]

via: https://theelectranetwork.wordpress.com Rumors of there not being enough parades in New York has caught the ear of Dr. Bill Tingling, founder and chairman of “Jamaican Rising Day,” who felt the need to validate Jamaica as a beacon for Caribbean culture. The first “Jamaica Rising Day Parade” will not take place alongside the extravagant West Indian-American Day Parade but took place two days after the 64th Emancipation Anniversary on August 8th. All roads led to Church Ave and Ocean Ave as the historical event began. This experience opens the gate to New York’s carnival festivities. Currently, the carnival route is in Grenada for Spicemas and will make its way up North for Labor Day- September 7th.
