(Filmed 9/27/25) These are the elevators in Terminal 3 proper. There's not as many elevators here as there are in Terminal 4, but still plenty worth filming. This terminal originally opened in 1979 and underwent an extensive renovation that completed in January 2020 (per Wikipedia), making these elevators 2019 models. And these are new installations, not mods. And these are overhead traction, along with the ones in the Sky Train stations. These even feature more detailed custom announcements for each floor. Plus, if you don't know this, these elevators that we've seen are actually the traction version of the elevators at the Colorado Convention Center. That means that if any of the elevators here are hydraulic, they would have the exact same loud motors as the ones at the Colorado Convention Center, regardless of model year. Likewise, if any of the Innovation-modernized elevators at the convention center were traction, the brakes would make the exact same sounds as the ones here at PHX. Therefore, these are the traction and new-install counterparts of the hydraulic elevators A, B, C, & D at the Colorado Convention Center. Like what you're seeing here?
