We Almost WALKED OUT of Fatehpur Sikri 🇮🇳

Fatehpur Sikri is one of those places in India that immediately makes you stop and look around. The enormous Buland Darwaza, the historic Jama Masjid, and the incredible red sandstone architecture make this former Mughal capital an unforgettable place to explore. But our visit didn't exactly start smoothly. Almost as soon as we entered, we were approached by extremely persistent people offering guide services. We politely declined—more than once—but things became uncomfortable enough that we seriously considered leaving altogether. Thankfully, we stayed, moved on from the situation, and got to appreciate what makes Fatehpur Sikri and its mosque complex such an extraordinary place. This episode isn't meant to paint Fatehpur Sikri—or India—in a negative light. Quite the opposite. Experiences like this are a tiny part of traveling, and one frustrating encounter shouldn't overshadow the history, architecture, hospitality, and countless wonderful people we've encountered throughout India.
