Big Mike Aguirre - “Long Hot Summer Night” (Jimi Hendrix Cover)

Anguilla, British West Indies. Packed for a 5-day trip. Arrived on March 9, 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic upended the world. The island locked down-- no more flights, no more ferries. I ended up staying for 3 years--but that's another story.... The first Covid case crept on island in April of 2021. Everyone had to go home and stay home. I ended up staying at a friend's beautiful villa. One day, for some reason, I fell out and smashed my head on a marble floor. I remember I was humming (and trying to memorise) the lyrics to Bob Dylan's "My Back Pages" -- next thing I knew I was on the floor. Scary-stuff, but after seven hours of testing at the seven-bed hospital, nothing abnormal was found, and fortunately I didn't fracture my skull. Good thing I had my Hair tied back! Post-Concussion syndrome was no fun, but since I couldn't leave the house--or stand up without wobbling--and unexpectedly had access to one of the most spectacular patio views in the world as I tried to get my brain working again, I decided to tackle what might be my favourite Jimi Hendrix tune, one that I'd never attempted in all these years. A few days later, I hit "Record." Here's to the healing power of music! Thanks for Watching. More Music at: www.bigmikestl.com #jimihendrix #LongHotSummerNight #guitar #anguilla
