I Could Never Outgive You Concept & Story: Maisie Chan Lyrics: ChatGPT Music & Vocals: Suno AI Bills on the table Numbers running wild How did they get here? Well, it took a little while Wish I’d learned it sooner How to steward what I have But I’m still learning wisdom One choice at a time I count it once I count again Still not enough So what happens then? I know this feeling I’ve been here before And somehow, looking back You’ve always made a way Not more than I need Just enough to keep going So when my hands want to hold on tight I remember Who has held my life I could never outgive You Everything good begins with You Daily bread and daily grace Enough for where I am today I open my hands, and there You are Faithful in ways I never planned Somehow You still surprise This worried heart of mine I could never outgive You You have always given first There was something in my hand I really wanted to keep Because when money’s running low Every little thing feels deep Should I hold it? Should I give? Lord, You know I wrestled with it Not to bargain Not to trade Not to make You owe me anything So I let it go And carried on Then little by little The pieces came along Work I could do Kindness I never planned Enough began to gather From places I could never command And there I was smiling— “Papa God… again?” I could never outgive You Everything good begins with You Daily bread and daily grace Enough for where I am today I open my hands, and there You are Faithful in ways I never planned Somehow You still surprise This worried heart of mine I could never outgive You You have always given first Not too much that I forget You Not too little that I lose heart Give me what I need for today Keep me close to where You are I don’t need a life of plenty I don’t need a guarantee Just the grace I need for this day And the faith to follow where You lead And when I look back— Oh, look at that Another day Another need Another place where grace met me Another worry Another prayer Another reminder— You were there I could never outgive You How could my little outgive grace? You were giving long before I gave And You have carried me to this place Daily bread and daily grace Enough for today, strength for the way And when I finally breathe again I look back amazed at where I’ve been Grateful for Your provision Grateful for Your faithful love I could never outgive You Because everything began with You One step One day Daily bread Daily grace Not too much Not too little Just enough To walk with You And when I look back I see it too I could never outgive You. **************************** I Could Never Outgive You was born out of a season of financial worry, learning, and gratitude. Sometimes the numbers simply do not add up. We may look back and wish we had handled things differently or learned wisdom sooner. We worry, hold tightly to what little we have, and wonder how we will make it through. Yet through the years, I have experienced God’s faithfulness again and again—not as a promise of wealth or abundance, but as daily bread and daily grace. Enough for today. Enough for the next step. Enough to keep following Him. This song is also about the struggle to give when we ourselves feel that we do not have enough. Giving is not a bargain with God, and His grace is never something we can purchase. We do not give so that God will owe us something. Instead, I am learning that when I open my hands, I remember that His hands were open long before mine. And I could never outgive Him. Not because He promises to make us rich, but because everything begins with Him—His grace, His love, His presence, His provision, and ultimately Jesus Himself. Not too much that I forget You. Not too little that I lose heart. Daily bread. Daily grace. Just enough to walk with You.
