15 NBA Stars From the 1980s Who Were Left Off the NBA’s Top 75

In October 2021, the NBA named the 75 greatest players in its history, and the man who scored more points than anyone in the 1980s was not on the list. He was not the only one. If you watched the NBA in the 1980s, you will know every name in this countdown. Hit subscribe and come back with us. 🏀📼👟    / @whenbasketballfeltdifferent   I’m Ray, and this channel is my love letter to 1980s basketball. In this video we count down 15 stars of that decade who were left off the NBA 75th Anniversary Team: scoring champions, Finals MVPs, Defensive Players of the Year and Hall of Famers, and for each one what he did and why it should have been enough. Who would you put on the list first, and who did I leave off? Drop a name and a season in the comments. That’s where a lot of these videos start. How every episode comes together: 🔎 Research: We start from the paper trail: Basketball-Reference box scores and season stats, NBA.com legend profiles, Hall of Fame records and newspaper coverage from the time. Every name, date and number gets checked before it makes the script. 🎬 Visuals: Archival-style basketball imagery, vintage card art and motion graphics, edited in-house with professional software. 🎙️ Narration: One consistent original voice, produced in-house for this channel, so every episode feels like the same conversation. © 2026 When Basketball Felt Different.
