About 40 years ago, I built these powerful DIY audio amplifiers for demanding disco and PA applications. One is a high-power MOSFET design rated at 2×500W/4Ω, while the other is a rugged bipolar transistor amplifier based on the old PAKEL ProAudio Kit Electronic design. After decades of storage, dust, humidity and years of hard use, I powered them up again to see if these vintage amplifiers still work.
