Want to understand how the Microsoft Foundry SDK actually works?
In this hands-on demo, we'll start with a model already deployed in Microsoft Foundry and learn how to call that model from our own Python application outside the Foundry portal.
We'll keep the application intentionally simple so the focus stays on understanding the SDK and the end-to-end connection.
You'll see how to:
Understand where the Microsoft Foundry SDK fits
Find the Foundry project endpoint and model deployment
Check and install the required Python client libraries
Authenticate using Azure identity
Connect using AIProjectClient
Get the client needed for model requests
Send a request to a deployed AI model
Receive the model response in Python
Turn the working example into a lightweight chat client
The key flow to remember:
Authenticate → Connect → Request → Response
This practical demo aligns with the learning objective:
Create a lightweight chat client application by using the Foundry SDK.
