I connected Claude directly to my Home Assistant setup using HA-MCP and asked it to audit and clean up old devices, missing entities, broken automations, unused integrations, and dashboard errors. Look for: unavailable/possibly abandoned entities, devices with no area, confusing or duplicate names, integrations with errors, active repairs, repeated log errors, automations with recent failed traces, unused helpers, duplicate entities, and dashboards with broken cards or missing entities. Also review disabled automations — don’t assume disabled means unused; classify each as probably still useful, needs my review, or possibly abandoned.
