After leaving the volcanic mountainous area of Mount Merapi, and bypassing Jogjakarta inland ti head towards the coastbof Pacitan region, the landscape changes dramatically to Karst Limestone Hills, uplifted from the seabed millions of years ago, where shells and old corals are found on domes mountaintops
