Betton Grange and Austerities star at the Swanage Railway Spring Steam Gala 2026

A trip to the Swanage Railway for their Spring Steam Gala was one that was going to happen eventually and 2026 was the year! After an action packed Saturday at the West Somerset Railway with their 50th Anniversary celebrations a trip down to the Purbecks was in order to catch the Swnage Railway Steam Gala on the Sunday. Traction was in the form of visiting austerities 68067 and WD152 'Rennes' which were accompanied by new build 6880, 'Betton Grange' The Friday and Saturday had additional beer trains with the Austerities running the show on Friday and the Grange on Saturday (extra video of this to come!) These visiting locos were bolstered by home fleet 34070, 'Manston', 34072, '257 Squadron', 31806 and 563. Additionally on Sunday 34028, 'Eddystone' was in action before returning to London for mainline duties. Apologies for any poor tripod movements or wind noise as it was very windy when filming, it even broke my camera and main tripod! I still hope you enjoy.
