Jazz Noir 🌙 Chapter X Someone Was Inside Room 13 Dark Detective Jazz /    • Jazz Noir 🌙 Chapter X Someone Was Inside R...   The door slammed shut behind him. Seconds later, it opened again. But this time, someone had left a photograph outside Room 13. 🌙 CHAPTER X — SOMEONE WAS INSIDE ROOM 13 St. Canard. 2:17 A.M. The detective stood frozen in the darkness. Only moments earlier, he had entered Room 13 and discovered a photograph taken outside the jazz bar that very night. On the back were four words: "WE'VE BEEN EXPECTING YOU." Then the door had slammed shut. He remembered reaching for the handle. Locked. He remembered the sudden silence. And then... A voice. "You're looking in the wrong place, detective." He turned. Nobody was there. The voice seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at once. "Who are you?" he demanded. No answer. Only the distant sound of a piano playing somewhere beyond the walls. Then the lock clicked. The door slowly opened. The detective stepped into the hallway. The room behind him was now empty. But something lay on the floor. Another photograph. Old. Faded. Almost eighty years old. He crouched beneath the warm light spilling through the doorway and picked it up. A rooftop. A full moon. A mysterious figure standing above St. Canard. The same figure from the photograph dated 1947. The same shadow he had seen in the case file. The same symbol from the envelope. Darkwing Duck. The detective studied the image. Something about the rooftop seemed familiar. Then he noticed a detail in the background. A clock tower. Its hands pointed to 2:17. He slowly looked at his watch. 2:17 A.M. Impossible. The photograph had been taken decades ago. Yet the clock showed the exact time. A cold breeze moved through the hallway. Somewhere inside Room 13, the piano stopped. Then a voice whispered: "You have thirteen minutes left." The detective looked toward the open door. "Until what?" The voice answered: "Until the city remembers what happened in 1947." And then... The lights went out. TO BE CONTINUED... 🎷 WELCOME TO ST.
