My Factorio Enemies Now Eat the Forest (Dev Log 7.1)

Some Replicator bases no longer sit on a matter node. Small eight-legged gatherers strip the land around them, trees, rocks and ore, and carry it home to be turned into matter. They now also adapt to the player using artillery or nukes on them by building countermeasures: a CIWS (inspired by the Phalanx CIWS). A showcase of Proliferation 1.2. Gatherer bases: how the gatherers pick what to eat, why they leave square holes in the forest, what happens when they wander into a nest, and a cliff that taught me a lesson. Two new endless research lines that let the Replicators make more out of the same matter. Then the CIWS, against artillery and a legendary spidertron full of (chaos!) missiles.
