The Writers' Room is a Creative Writing Exercise where we come together and explore what we would write if we were hired to write a sequel, reboot, or the next episode. We spend half the segment blue-skying by throwing pitches back and forth. Then we pick the one we like best and write an outline. This activity encourages us to work in genres outside of our comfort zones and use tools in the toolbox we wouldn't normally use in our individual specialties. Moreover, we get opportunities to learn from writers with different areas of expertise. We push our skills to grow in every exercise and bring those new skills back to our own projects.
