Lost on Purpose

“Lost on Purpose” by Olara Moss takes the long way through melodic house and dark synthwave textures: “We don’t need a destination for this night to count.” For listeners drawn to emotional electronic music, and for anyone who has kept a good night going just to spend a little longer together, this is one for a late-night drive that doesn’t have to end at your usual exit. From I Go in Light, out 9 October 2026. — LYRICS I know every street by its name And every red light I drive them in my sleep With the radio low But tonight every turn feels brand new You beside me Let's pass each exit Till the numbers run out Leave every map on the dash, we don't need it tonight When the road splits in two, we can take the side with no sign If the morning finds us where we never expected We can call it our own Let's get lost on purpose Let's get lost on purpose (Ooh ooh ooh) Let's get lost on purpose Let the whole world wait its turn (Ooh ooh ooh) Let's get lost on purpose There's an all-night cafe ahead Just past the state line We'll drink bitter coffee And watch the trucks roll by Put a coin in a song we don't know On the jukebox If we miss the words We can make up the lines Left every map on the dash, we don't need it tonight When the road split in two, we took the side with no sign If the morning finds us where we never expected We can call it our own Let's get lost on purpose Ooh ooh ooh Let's get lost on purpose Ooh ooh ooh Let the whole night take its time Ooh ooh ooh Let's get lost on purpose You didn't ask me where we're going, didn't check the time You turned the radio down and put your feet up on the dash If the road runs out, we'll leave the car and walk We don't need a destination for this night to count Left every map on the dash, we never needed it Never needed it Every road split in two, and we took the side with no sign No sign, no sign Now the morning's found us where we never expected And we call it our own We got lost on purpose (Ooh ooh ooh) Let's get lost on purpose (Ooh ooh ooh) Let the daylight find us there (Ooh ooh ooh) We got lost on purpose — Subscribe to hear each track from I GO IN LIGHT as it arrives.
