"Somewhere Out There" - from An American Tail - (piano solo)

This is a slightly over-the-top arrangement of the hit song from the 1986 animated film An American Tail. It was composed by James Horner, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil. A pop version of the song, recorded by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram, was a top 40 hit. This adaptation is based on an arrangement by Bob Geresti, although my execution is not nearly as good as his. This is probably the only time I have ever played the very lowest note on the piano in an actual performance, which is one of the most rarely used keys on the instrument.
