The Fenian Ram | Ireland's Secret Submarine Built to Strike Britain 🇮🇪

🇮🇪 THE FENIAN RAM | The Brass Banshees In 1881, Irish rebels funded a secret weapon designed to strike the British Empire from beneath the waves. They called it the Fenian Ram. Designed by Irish inventor John Philip Holland and funded by the Fenian Brotherhood, this revolutionary submarine was built to challenge British naval power. But the greatest threat to the Fenian Ram didn't come from the British Navy. It came from the men who paid for her. Disputes between Holland and the Brotherhood ended with the submarine being taken from its inventor. The Fenian Ram never went to war, but Holland's pioneering work helped shape the future of submarine warfare. This is the extraordinary true story of Irish rebellion, Victorian engineering and a weapon that never fired a shot in anger. ⚓ Steel below. Green above. There's a rebel in the deep! 🎸 The Brass Banshees bring Irish history, rebellion and forgotten legends to life through original Celtic ska-punk.
