Vientos del Pueblo - Vientos del Pueblo (Chile, 1979/1980)

Self-titled record from the (presumably) Chilean group-in-exile Vientos del Pueblo, released in the Netherlands on a small independent folk label called Onyx. The album includes original songs as well as interpretations of classics by artists like Violeta Parra and the revolutionary Nicaraguan songwriter Carlos Mejía Godoy. Interestingly enough, the fifth track here is by the otherwise-obscure Bolivian-via-Netherlands singer Victor Hugo Cabrera that we posted an album of some tiem ago. Perhaps he was also involved in this group in some way? Essentially no information on this group exists out there except for the fact that they released another album dedicated to the Chilean struggle and period of socialist construction which consists entirely of classic Nueva Canción songs. If anyone has any additional details about them we would be very happy to learn more.
