Railroad Crossing: West 73rd Street, Anderson, IN. CSX Main Track 1&2

This episode of the Railroad Crossing series takes us to the last CSX crossing headed west out of Anderson, IN. West 73rd Street was once a lonely county road. It was annexed into the city as development continues to migrate north along nearby Interstate 69 from Indianapolis. What was once farm fields are now occupied by such buildings as various warehouses, a FedEx facility, and even a Nestlé plant. Cantilevers and gates welcome the many truck drivers picking up or delivering goods here as they cross this busy line where freight trains can run as fast as 60 M.P.H.
