Jack Smith SHUTS DOWN Sen. Kennedy as He Turns Trump Hearing Into a Personal Attack

Sen. John Kennedy questioned former special counsel Jack Smith about the Trump investigations, his appointment, and requests for Republican lawmakers’ phone records. But the exchange also turned personal, with questions about Smith’s wife and sarcastic references to the tooth fairy and Easter Bunny. Smith repeatedly declined to discuss his family, defended his investigative decisions, and said he believed the evidence supported prosecution. Another senator intervened near the end, asking that Smith be allowed to complete his answers. Our commentary examines Kennedy’s accusations, Smith’s responses, and the difference between legitimate oversight and insinuation. Did Kennedy establish misconduct—or let personal attacks undermine his own questioning?
