The 22nd Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival has officially crowned its winners! Celebrating a historic edition of fearless Filipino storytelling, the prestigious Balanghai Trophies were awarded during the festival's highly anticipated awards night.
Taking top honors in the Full-Length Category is the psychological horror MAG-IINA, directed by Giancarlo Abrahan and Guelan Varela Luarca, which swept multiple major awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Production Design, and Best Musical Scoring! Meanwhile, Rey Anthony Villaverde’s SILKSCREEN took home the coveted Best Film trophy in the Short Film Category.
