The central thesis is that feminism didn't simply ask for women to have more legal rights and opportunities. According to Basic Logic, it also challenged many of the traditional expectations surrounding womanhood—including motherhood, marriage, homemaking, family responsibility, and the idea that raising children should be one of the most important roles a woman can have. And that raises a much bigger question: What happens to a society when motherhood is treated as an obstacle rather than one of its most important responsibilities? Traditional family structures placed enormous value on mothers raising children, maintaining the household, and building stable families. Modern culture has increasingly encouraged women to prioritize education, careers, independence, and personal fulfillment alongside—or sometimes above—those responsibilities. There's nothing inherently wrong with women having careers or pursuing ambitions. The question is whether society has gone too far in treating traditional family roles as outdated, oppressive, or even embarrassing. We also return to the Lindsay Clancy case, which has become one of the most disturbing examples of how the internet can turn a tragedy into an ideological battleground. Clancy's case involves a profoundly serious mental-health defense, and the legal questions surrounding her criminal responsibility are separate from the broader cultural debate. But the online reaction to her has demonstrated how quickly some people can become more interested in defending a particular narrative than in acknowledging the children who died. That's where I think feminist rhetoric deserves serious criticism. Compassion for women doesn't require pretending motherhood doesn't matter. Mental illness doesn't make children less valuable. And criticizing traditional expectations doesn't automatically make the alternatives better. A society still has to decide what it values. Do we value marriage? Do we value stable families? Do we value motherhood and fatherhood? Do we believe parents have obligations that go beyond personal happiness? And what happens when those values are weakened for several generations? Basic Logic argues that some modern feminist ideas have contributed to a culture where family responsibilities are increasingly viewed through the lens of personal autonomy, while the consequences for children can become an afterthought. That's a controversial argument. But it deserves to be debated rather than dismissed with slogans. In this video, I react to Basic Logic's arguments, discuss the relationship between feminism and changing family values, return to the disturbing reaction surrounding Lindsay Clancy, and examine whether modern society has gone too far in separating personal freedom from responsibility toward children. Because a society that forgets the importance of families... ...eventually has to live with the consequences.
