MGA Restoration Aussie 2019 Pt. 81 - Making a Spring for the Handbrake

I had trouble securing the correct spring for the inside of the handbrake handle so resorted to making one and winding it by hand. It didn't look pretty but it works. Addendum: I decided to do some research on this spring making caper and found out two things. 1. I can do it on the lathe which will eliminate all of the inconsistencies. 2. I need to stress relieve the finished product with heat treatment. I have wire enough for 8-9 more so I will see if I can perfect the process.
