I Went Back for the Headstones Hidden in the Woods | Smyrna Churchyard

I went back to Smyrna Churchyard in Washington, Georgia, to visit the headstones I could see hidden back in the woods during my first visit—but couldn’t safely reach while exploring alone. This time, I made my way back to that overgrown area and discovered that the forgotten headstones belong to the Barnett family. While the rest of the cemetery is much easier to access and maintain, this family plot has become heavily overgrown and is in a very different condition. Sometimes the stories we find in a cemetery are hidden in the places that are easiest to overlook.
