In Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, and in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, are pursuing a 'zero-tolerance' policy regarding the issue of illegal migrants. In Bengal, the 'Dhangni Bede' settlement—where Bangladeshi migrants were residing—has been cleared. Furthermore, Suvendu Adhikari has instructed the police to exercise no leniency, directing that infiltrators be sent back via the same routes they used to enter the state.
