The theme of this conversation is how full self disclosure and listening applies to the experience of Centering Prayer, and what goes on within us through the working of the Holy Spirit. Our self knowledge deepens. We better know ourselves on all levels. The more we say "yes,” the more the process of transformation deepens. Fr. Thomas and Abbot Joseph also discuss how the role of the monastery can expand to allow laity to experience the monastic life. This discussion was recorded at the 2006 Contemplative Outreach Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. The theme was "Transformative Listening: Whose Voice Are We Listening To?"
