Two thousand years of Rome, from the splash of the Trevi Fountain to the arches of the Colosseum under a clear summer sky. Rome, a bright afternoon, coins hitting water and footsteps on ancient stone. Filmed on location. Shot on DJI Osmo Pocket 4P. The Trevi Fountain was finished in 1762, designed by Nicola Salvi, and marks the end of the Aqua Virgo, an aqueduct that has carried water into the city since 19 BC. Legend says one coin over your left shoulder brings you back to Rome. Roughly 3,000 euros are tossed in every day, collected and given to charity. It's also one of the busiest spots in the city, so locals and guides alike will tell you to keep a hand on your bag. A short walk away stands the Colosseum, the Flavian Amphitheatre, begun under Emperor Vespasian and opened by his son Titus in 80 AD. It held around 50,000 spectators, had a retractable canvas roof worked by sailors, and a maze of tunnels below the arena floor where animals and gladiators waited for their cue.
