Is Insomnium's 10th Album One of Their BEST? Netherworlds Review

Is Insomnium still one of the best bands in melodic death metal? Their tenth studio album, Netherworlds, gives us plenty to talk about! In this review, we're diving into the latest release from Finnish melodic death metal veterans Insomnium. After nearly three decades of delivering dark atmospheres, crushing riffs, and beautiful melodies, can the band still deliver the goods? We'll look at the story behind Netherworlds, the addition of guitarist Tomy Laisto, the album's emotional themes of grief, memory, dreams, and the afterlife, and how the band balances its trademark Finnish melancholy with some fresh musical ideas. I'll also discuss my favorite tracks, including "The Hour Grows Late," "Gleam in the Black," "Arch of the Sky," and "The Banished." We'll cover the album's greatest strengths, a few weaknesses, and whether this latest chapter stands alongside the band's best work. Does Netherworlds live up to the Insomnium name? Or is the band relying too much on a familiar formula? My final verdict is in, and I'm giving this album 8 out of 10! 💬 Let me know in the comments: What do you think of Netherworlds? What's your favorite track, and how does it compare to albums like Above the Weeping World, Shadows of the Dying Sun, and Heart Like a Grave? 🎥 Check out my review of Anno 1696 next!
