Start to finish, the FULL STORY. This 1800s house has survived 1 year of renovations/rebuilding, on top of 100+ years of neglect. Its history was a heartbeat away from being lost. Rotting alone, forgotten on the Montana prairie. Today, it is full of warmth from the fire, food in the oven, and people celebrating in its spaces. Stones from the field became a stone foundation. Trees from the forest became lumber we milled ourselves. Even the original 1889 walls were saved (some completely whole!) with their square nails intact. Windows were made. Furniture was made. No detail was forgotten. This journey took every skill us 3 friends could muster. No government money chipped in, no sponsorship deals, nothing--just friends giving it a go out of love for this old house. Come along on this journey with us.
