Classic Match: Aberdeen 1-3 Celtic (30/01/82) | A 17-year-old Paul McStay shines ✨

Ahead of Celtic’s league visit to Aberdeen, we’re looking back at a memorable 3-1 away victory from January 1982 - a match forever remembered for Paul McStay’s first Celtic goal. Celtic fell behind early but responded well, with a composed midfield performance setting the tone. Frank McCluskey brought Celtic level from the penalty spot before Murdo MacLeod put the Hoops ahead with a free-kick that deflected off the Aberdeen wall. The decisive moment came from the youngest player on the pitch. Just 17 years old, McStay showed remarkable composure, creating space in the box and firing a left-footed finish past Jim Leighton to seal the win - his first goal for Celtic in his first league appearance. A landmark moment for a future club legend, and a classic result at Pittodrie. #CelticFC🍀 Subscribe today to the official YouTube of the world’s first Quadruple Treble winners, Celtic Football Club: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... 📽️ Plus, you can watch exclusive player and manager interviews, full-match replays and go behind the scenes of Celtic FC ONLY on Celtic TV.
