New Baleno: ADAS Is Only on ONE Variant — Full Variant Guid

Two things almost everyone reported about the new Baleno turn out to be wrong — and one of them we got wrong ourselves last week. Here's the full old-vs-new comparison, variant by variant, with every figure checked against Maruti's own specification sheet and price table. WHAT THE REPORTING GOT WRONG: • The touchscreen did NOT get bigger. Maruti's brochure lists the SmartPlay Pro+ at 22.86 cm — that's exactly 9 inches, the same as before. What changed is Pro to Pro+ software, not screen size. Delta gets a 17.78 cm (7-inch) SmartPlay Pro. • There is NO CNG automatic. The brochure's transmission table reads 5MT/5AMT for petrol and 5MT only for CNG. Every CNG variant listed (Delta CNG MT, Zeta CNG MT) is manual. OUR OWN CORRECTION: three days before launch we told you the ADAS claims were probably unfounded. They weren't — the car has a Level 2+ suite. We were wrong, and we say so in the video. WHAT'S GENUINELY NEW: • Level 2+ ADAS — monocular camera + millimetre-wave radar, 7 functions (ACC with curve speed reduction, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Vehicle Sway Warning, AEB and FCW with car/motorcycle/pedestrian/bicycle detection, High Beam Assist). Per the brochure this is Alpha (O) ONLY — not Alpha, not Zeta. • Front ventilated seats (Alpha and above), TPMS (Delta and above) • New Z12E engine: 1197cc 3-cylinder, 82.93 PS @ 5700 rpm, 112.4 Nm @ 4500 rpm — down roughly 7 PS on the old car, but up to 23.80 km/l MT and 24.77 km/l AMT, and 33.61 km/kg on CNG • Redesigned NEXWave grille and bumper, Clarion premium sound (Alpha up), new Enigmatic Teal Green paint NOT NEW, despite the coverage: the head-up display and 360 view camera were already on the old Alpha. Full variant-wise breakdown for Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Alpha (O) is in the video — lighting, wheels, infotainment, upholstery, safety and ADAS, all straight from the brochure. ON PRICING — only ONE variant actually has a price. Maruti has announced the Sigma Petrol MT at Rs 5.99 lakh ex-showroom (same as the outgoing Sigma). Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Alpha (O) are all TBA across every transmission. Bookings are open at Rs 11,000. So anyone telling you today whether the Zeta or Alpha (O) is good value is guessing — those numbers don't exist yet. The price table also confirms the brochure: CNG is manual-only, and Alpha and Alpha (O) don't offer CNG at all.
