The Dark Matter Problem No One Is Talking About

Season 2 of Dark Matter is ignoring one of the biggest problems the box creates: every time someone opens a door under the drug, a new version of that person is born. With Jason, Jason 2, Amanda, Ryan, Daniela, Charlie, and Leighton all traveling now, the number of variants is exploding. Season 1 already used this as the entire premise of the finale. Dozens of Jasons showed up in Chicago. Some were burned. Some were missing limbs. Many never made it. The show hand-waved the science so it could tell the story it wanted. Blake Crouch has said as much. That worked when only one character was multiplying. It ended with a crowd of broken Jasons fighting to get home. Now the travelers are multiplying. Shutting the box down does not erase them. It locks them in. Some will die in worlds they never belonged to. Some will be trapped in dangerous situations with no way back. An untold number of people pay that cost so one family can be safe. Is that the story Season 2 is actually telling?
