On the Street After the Rain

On the Street After the Rain [Verse 1] In the alley where the sound of rain has faded Over the puddle pooled beneath the streetlight Sunlight spreading through the clouds Reflects the person I was yesterday [Pre-Chorus] Shaking the rain from my wet shoulders I take one step forward again Even into my clouded heart Light is starting to come in [Chorus] On this street after the rain has cleared I'm breathing again Those days I was soaked clean through I'll hang them out to dry in the wind Like the sparkle of this street Etched into every step I take I'll shine again too, from now on I'll start over, again [Verse 2] If I fold my umbrella and walk The clearing sky wraps around me In the face reflected in the puddle A familiar smile comes back to me [Pre-Chorus] Even the days I fell apart Must have become the soil that raised me Onto this dazzling street I carefully take my first step [Chorus] On this street after the rain has cleared I'm breathing again Those days I was soaked clean through I'll hang them out to dry in the wind Like the sparkle of this street Etched into every step I take I'll shine again too, from now on I'll start over, again [Bridge] It's alright, it's all passed now That rain was washing me clean I don't have to cry anymore Because the sunlight is holding me [Chorus] On this street after the rain has cleared I'm breathing again Those days I was soaked clean through I'll hang them out to dry in the wind Like the sparkle of this street Etched into every step I take I'll shine again too, from now on I'll start over, again [Outro] At the end of this rain-soaked street I walk on, once more
