Special Talk on Himalayan Geology | Department of Geology, University of Kashmir The Department of Geology, University of Kashmir, hosted a special academic talk by Prof. Michał Krobicki, AGH University of Krakow, Poland, on the palaeobiogeographical significance of Early Jurassic Lithiotis-type bivalves and the deep-time geological evolution of the Himalaya–Karakoram–Tibet region. The talk explored the breakup of Pangea, opening of the Neotethys, palaeogeography and plate tectonic evolution of the Himalayan region. The programme was attended by Prof. Talat Ahmad, Chairman, Governing Body, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology and former Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir; Prof. Pervez Ahmad, Dean, School of Earth & Environmental Sciences, University of Kashmir; and Dr. G.
