🔮 Η ΚΑΤΑΡΑ ΤΗΣ ΚΑΣΣΑΝΔΡΑΣ | Bored Skull The next chapter in the Bored Skull Greek Mythology Series belongs to one of mythology’s most tragic voices. Η Κατάρα της Κασσάνδρας The Curse of Cassandra Cassandra was a princess of Troy, daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba, and sister to figures including Hector and Paris. Her gift should have made her powerful. Instead, it destroyed her. According to one famous tradition, Apollo granted Cassandra the ability to see the future. When she rejected him, he could not take the divine gift back, so he twisted it into a curse: Cassandra would continue to speak the truth, but nobody would believe her. She saw disaster approaching Troy. She warned against Paris and Helen. She foresaw the destruction that the Trojan War would bring. And when the Greeks apparently abandoned their siege and left behind the enormous wooden horse, Cassandra understood the danger. Troy celebrated. Cassandra warned them. Nobody listened. The horse was brought inside the city. Hidden Greek warriors emerged during the night, Troy’s gates were opened, and the city fell. The curse was complete. Cassandra was not wrong. She was simply condemned to be right too early. Her tragedy did not end with Troy. After the city’s destruction, Cassandra was taken by the victorious Greek king Agamemnon back to Mycenae. Once again, she foresaw what was coming. She knew Agamemnon would be murdered. She knew she herself would die. And once again, knowing the future gave her no power to escape it. In Aeschylus’ tragedy Agamemnon, Cassandra enters the palace fully aware that death waits inside. And still she enters. That is the horror at the heart of her story. Not ignorance. Certainty. To see tomorrow clearly. To scream the truth. To watch everyone dismiss you. And then to stand helplessly as every terrible thing you predicted becomes real. Η Κατάρα της Κασσάνδρας turns that ancient tragedy into a song about prophecy, isolation and the unbearable burden of knowing what nobody else is willing to hear. Troy is burning. The future has arrived. And somewhere among the ruins, Cassandra can finally say: I told you. But by then, it means nothing. 🔮 Greek Mythology Series: Η ΚΑΤΑΡΑ ΤΗΣ ΚΑΣΣΑΝΔΡΑΣ 🎵 Original song: Bored Skull ✍️ Lyrics & creative direction: Bored Skull 🎼 AI-assisted music production 🎨 Artwork: Bored Skull She saw the future.
