Vladimir Fedorovich Stozharov (January 3, 1926 – November 22, 1973) was a prominent Soviet Russian master painter recognized for his vivid, rich, and monumental depictions of rural Russia, particularly the Russian North. Alongside prominent figures like Arkadi Plastov, Stozharov spearheaded a movement focused on provincial landscapes, peasant life, and traditional wooden architecture. Vladimir Fyodorovich Stozharov (Russian: Владимир Фёдорович Стожаров) was a painter born on January 3, 1926, in Moscow, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, USSR, and died on November 22, 1973, in Moscow, USSR. The son of chauffeur Fyodor Stozharov, Vladimir, whose nicknames were Volodya or Vova, was born at 21 Bolshoi Karetny Street in Moscow. His family spent summers not far from the capital, southwest of the capital, in the village of Svinorye. In 1939, he entered the Moscow Intermediate Art School, where his teachers included Vitaly Pochitalov, Akindin Petrovich Chorchev, Pavel Tikhonovich Koshevoi, and Sergei P. Mikhailov.
