Stafford Beer: One Person Metagame (1983) | Restored Cassette Recording

Stafford Beer reads his poem "One Person Metagame," recorded in 1983, with original music by his son Mark Beer. The recording survived only on a single cassette held by the Beer family. It was shared by Vanilla Beer and the family of Harry Beer, recovered by Angel Radev, and digitised and restored by Angel Radev and Boyan Angelov in the summer of 2026. This is its first public release. Published by Metaphorum with permission of the Beer family, who retain copyright. The tape is one of the few recordings of Beer reading his own poetry, and it sits alongside the cybernetic work rather than apart from it. Released for the centenary of his birth.
