Three Pueblo, Colorado trails for one cool ride! The Historic Riverwalk Bike Trail in Pueblo is part of an impressive urban trail following the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek. The paved Historic Arkansas Riverwalk winds through downtown Pueblo, featuring bridges, water features, restaurants, public art, and access to the historic Union Avenue district.
The Riverwalk connects directly with the Thomas Phelps Creek Trail, a short concrete trail extending from the Riverwalk toward Runyon Lake. The route passes Gateway Park and the Runyon Field Sports Complex and provides safe crossings beneath I-25 and over U.S. 50.
The Fountain Creek Trail provides additional fun miles of riding, stretching nearly 5 miles through northeastern Pueblo. This paved trail follows Fountain Creek and connects with the Arkansas River trail system, with a spur leading toward Colorado State University Pueblo.
Elevation changes are modest, making these trails excellent for all levels of cyclists. The broader Pueblo River Trail System offers more than 30 miles of interconnected riding along the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek. Combining these three trails into one ride makes for a great day of riding in a pretty cool little city in Colorado! Stay for dinner and enjoy a nice evening walk around the Riverwalk Trail and you can thank me later!!!
