Alf Johnson's Model Fairground (Based upon the amusements at Marlborough Mop Fairs)

Once a familiar sight in Marlborough often in various High Street shop windows at Mop Fair time, I thought you might like to see Alf Johnson’s terrific model fairground, which made a rare outing recently. All the models were made from scratch between 1968 & 1993, often crafted using materials that he would find from around the family home. They were made to 1/24 scale and all dismantle before being carefully packed piece-by-piece onto transport, just like the amusements they were based upon. Such a talented Marlborough man, with so many strings to his bow and certainly much missed.
