Scarborough Shadows Music Gala 2026

Hi welcome to a selection of tunes from our recent set at the 2026 East Yorkshire Shadow's Guitar Club, Gala Weekend held at Scarborough Rugby Club. The set included only a couple of tunes by The Shadows but rather a selection of "shadow's inspired" tunes from across Europe, which I had posted previously over the years on YT. It was great fun to look back over 250 songs and pick out some of my favourites. My thanks to Ian Harper and Kev Harris who eventually persuaded me to attempt what would be the first time I had performed a full set with a band since my punk rock days back in the early 1980's. It was a fantastic experience and an absolutely massive thanks to Steve, Pete and John for their talent and taking the time to learn these numbers. We managed only one rehearsal before the day which unfortunately due to illness Pete could only join in for less than an hour. For at least three of the tunes tunes we only managed a brief unplugged run through in the dressing room on the day. Thanks to John Wilkinson for the majority of the video footage.
