"Different Sides of the Same Street" is an original UK Hip-Hop duet combining emotional British rap, melodic male and female vocals, gentle piano and heartfelt storytelling. Told from two perspectives, the song explores a relationship where both people are trying to do the right thing but have stopped understanding what the other truly needs. Through honest conversations, alternating rap verses and harmonised choruses, this reflective UK rap track captures the struggles of communication, growing apart and finding a way back to each other. A moving story about love, misunderstandings and the realisation that sometimes the distance between two people isn't nearly as great as it feels. Welcome to Studio Full Spectrum. Thanks for listening. 🎵 LYRICS Him: You said I never listen. Her: You said I never talk. Him: Funny, innit? Her: Yeah. Funny. Him: I came home late on a Tuesday You were sitting on the stairs Said you'd waited up to see me I said, "Didn't know you'd care" Not because I didn't mean it Just the words came out all wrong I'd been working every evening Trying to keep us moving on Her: I wasn't asking for a fortune Wasn't asking for the moon Just a little conversation Not another empty room You kept saying you were busy Like I couldn't understand But it's hard to feel together When you're reaching for a hand Him: I thought I was doing right. Her: I know. That's half the problem. Him: We were looking at the same sky... Her: But we never saw the same view... Him: I was trying to build a future... Her: I was trying to get through to you... Him: We're on different sides of the same street Her: Standing where the two roads meet Him I can see you through the distance Her: But you never seem to see me Both: Maybe we're not worlds apart Maybe we're just out of time Standing on the same old pavement Waiting for a different sign Her: Remember when we used to wander With no money and no plans? Didn't matter where we ended up Long as we were holding hands Now we've got the things we wanted And a place to call our own But somewhere in the getting there We forgot to make it home Him: Yeah, I remember those evenings Getting chips and missing trains Standing laughing at the bus stop While we sheltered from the rain I thought if I kept us steady You'd have everything you need Didn't realise all the while You were slowly losing me Her: I wasn't losing you. Him: What then? Her: I was losing us. Him: I could've asked how you were feeling. Her: I could've told you when it hurt. Him: I kept hiding in the silence. Her: I kept making matters worse. Him: We were both so busy talking. Her: Neither heard a single word. Him: Maybe I was scared of failing. Her: Maybe I just wanted heard. Him: So where does that leave us now? Her: I don't know. But we can start. Him: With a proper conversation? Her: Yeah. And an open heart. Him: We were looking at the same sky... Her: But we never saw the same view... Him: I was trying to build a future... Her: I was trying to get through to you... Him: We're on different sides of the same street Her: Standing where the two roads meet Him: I can see you through the distance Her: And I'm finally starting to see Both: Maybe we're not worlds apart Maybe we've just lost our way Standing on the same old pavement But we're turning round today Him: I can't promise I'll get everything right. Her: I'm not asking you to. Him: And I know we'll probably argue again. Her: Oh, definitely. Him: But maybe next time... Her: We actually listen? Yeah. I'd like that. Him: We're on different sides of the same street Her: But the distance isn't far Him: I was searching for tomorrow Here: I was waiting where you are Both: Maybe we're not worlds apart Maybe we just needed time Standing on the same old pavement And your hand is back in mine Him: Fancy going for a walk? Her: Where to? Him: Dunno. Nowhere in particular. Her: ...Yeah. Alright then. 🎧 Hear more UK Hip-Hop from our playlist:    • UK Hip-Hop   Subscribe for more original music from Studio Full Spectrum.
